Art Therapy, Trauma-Informed & Goal-oriented Approach
Beginning your healing journey starts with being heard & understood in a place where there is positivity & acceptance. I will walk with you to strengthen & empower your inner self while developing a deeper understanding of issues you might be experiencing such as relationship concerns, anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD or addiction. Through a trauma-informed, Adlerian & goal-oriented approach, I facilitate a way for you to find your voice & take control over your emotional well-being. Any feelings will be welcomed with support, starting with small steps that work for you. I offer individual, couples, and group counselling.

What is the Adlerian approach?
Understanding beliefs, history, experiences, feelings and emotions of an individual to uncover their current ways of living. The counsellor then can help the individual develop new ways of thinking about their situations & encourage reinforcement of new insights. Nurturing feelings of belonging within an individual is essential to treatment.

What is art therapy?
"Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate."
-Canadian Art Therapy Association, 2020

What is a trauma-informed approach?
- Taking essential steps to avoid re-traumatization while offering support to heal from traumatic past experiences.
- Recognizing the impact of traumatizing events and how the different 'survival modes' may show up in your life.
- Having an awareness of the prevalence of trauma and how it affects your life.
“Imagination is absolutely critical to the quality of our lives. Our imagination enables us to leave our routine everyday existence by fantasizing about travel, food, sex, falling in love, or having the last word—all the things that make life interesting. Imagination gives us the opportunity to envision new possibilities—it is an essential launchpad for making our hopes come true. It fires our creativity, relieves our boredom, alleviates our pain, enhances our pleasure, and enriches our most intimate relationships.”
